Follow the conversation

Pets, dinosaurs, machines, and magical creatures lead to different character shelves. Start with the subject a child asks about frequently, then use the method pages to compare tracing, six-step art, and grid copying.

Try an imaginative neighboring theme

A dinosaur fan may want to try robot dinosaurs; an animal fan may find unicorn animals or mutant creatures amusing. A neighboring theme can make a familiar activity feel new without changing the whole task format.

Keep the choice visible

Show two or three relevant titles rather than the entire catalog at once. When the child knows what the task is and recognizes a subject they like, choosing a first page becomes easier. Every theme collection here links to actual books.
