Choose an inviting first page

A recognizable animal or a funny face can be easier to select than a completely open task. A child who likes inventing may prefer the shape challenge instead. The activity should match what feels inviting to them today.

Avoid turning a book into a deadline

The catalog provides many possible sessions. Completing every page at once is not the goal. A child may spend time tracing one character, try part of a grid drawing, or leave a pencil picture to color another day.

Keep the finish personal

Naming a character, adding a small background, or choosing a surprising palette can make a finished page feel like the child’s own work. These are optional creative extensions, with no promised behavioral or therapeutic outcome.
