How to run it
Print and cut the cards once
Three sheets make 30 cards. Card stock lasts longer.
Set up a station
A cup of cards, a stack of scrap paper and a basket for finished drawings.
Explain the rule
Finish your work, check it, then pick one card. Draw quietly at your desk.
Pin a few early-finisher drawings on a board, or let kids show one at the end of the week.
Tip: Number the cards. Kids like tracking which ones they’ve done.
Keep it going: books for this plan

Questions parents ask
Won’t kids rush their work to get to the cards?
Ask to see the finished work before a card is picked. Most teachers find it settles quickly.
